AC Marriott Hotel Mosaic Installation

 

Join us each week for a look at some stunning LATICRETE projects from around the world! This week we're showcasing the Antonio Catalan (AC) Marriott Hotel in Texas, USA.

The AC Marriott Hotel features modern American architectural design with a Spanish twist, and developer Jackson Shaw wanted to accentuate this with an eye-catching sculpture in the front entranceway to make a lasting impression. 

Shaw chose mosaic designer Julie Richey to create the stunning 7.23m² Pamplona Rose column, inspired by the traditional stitched polaina that adorned the boots of Spanish horse riders. The column, along with the tiled entryway floor, used almost 100kg of glass mosaics in 35 different colours.

Julie Richey chose a LATICRETE solution for this installation, electing to use LATAPOXY® 300 Adhesive for the perfect bond to the unique fibreglass structure of the column. She grouted the mosaic with SPECTRALOCK® PRO Premium Grout, and sealed with LATASIL™ to complete this epic project!

Phillip Island Fibreglass Balcony

LATICRETE Technical Services Representative Chris Stenhouse caught up with tiler Dean on Phillip Island to collaborate on this 70m² fiberglass balcony project. Dean was installing the 1200x600mm porcelain tiles using LATAPOXY® 300 Adhesive, finishing the project with SPECTRALOCK® PRO Premium Grout in Mocha, and using LATASIL™ for the expansion and movement joints.

Completed Bathroom Project

Don MacDonald and his team from The Orchid Group have recently completed this residential bathroom project in Brisbane, QLD. The project features 400x800mm gloss white wall tiles and Moonstone Midnight Matt in 600x600mm porcelain, installed using a range of LATICRETE installation materials.

Products used: 

• LATAPOXY® Moisture Shield is a 2 component, roller applied epoxy coating specifically designed to reduce moisture vapour emissions in the concrete and other substrates.

Update on the Matthew Flinders Anglican College Project

In July last year, we shared the first update on the Matthew Flinders Anglican College Project on the Sunshine Coast, QLD. The team from Skorpil Tiling worked hard to complete this project alongside Integral Construction, and now we are happy to share the latest stage of the project, which features 400m2 of granite installed with a range of LATICRETE materials.

Facade Project in Surry Hills

 

LATICRETE Technical Sales Rep, Joe Tabone, went down memory lane and visited this 3-year-old facade project in Surry Hills, Sydney NSW.  It's still looking as great as the day it got completed!

Limestone Pool Surrounds

The team from Utopia Landscaping & Pools recently completed this amazing pool surrounds at a private residence in NSW. The 76m2 project features 600x400x30mm Pavian limestone with rendered edges and is now ready for use when the warmer weather arrives.

Meadowbank Pool Completed!

We recently shared a commercial pool project in Meadowbank, NSW, by Wright Pools. The project is completed and the refurbishment of this 20m pool and spa looks just beautiful! The pool features Ezarri glass mosaic tiles carried out by Knewbee Tiling, installed using a range of  LATICRETE materials.

LATICRETE materials to be used:

Avalon Pool Progress

We recently shared this residential pool project in Avalon, NSW by Windrim Building Contractors. The project is progressing well. 

In the above pics, LATAPOXY® Moisture Shield was being applied and the pool is now ready for HYDRO BAN®. The team are using a range of LATICRETE installation materials that were purchased from Amber Tiles Mona Vale and the pool qualifies for a LATICRETE 15 Year Swimming Pool System Warranty:

• 254 Platinum is the ultimate one-step, polymer fortified, thin-set adhesive. For interior and exterior installation of ceramic and stone tile, reduced thickness porcelain, quarry tile, pavers and thin brick.
• 4237 Latex Additive is a specially designed latex additive for use with 211 Crete Filler Powder to make a high strength latex thin bed and medium bed adhesive up to 15 mm. For installing all types of tile, stone and agglomerates.
• 3701 Mortar Admix is a specially designed latex admixture for use with thin-set adhesives, cement grouts, cement mortar beds and other cement mixes.

Sans Souci Pool Completed!

Recently we shared a pool project in Sans Souci, NSW, by the team from Knewbee Tiling. The project included a 50m pool and toddler pool which featured 1400m2 of porcelain Serapool tiles, supplied by The Pool Tile Company, and installed with a range of LATICRETE materials. 

The project is now completed and filled with water, ready for use, and the results are  absolutely amazing!

Pool Project Completed!

We recently shared this residential pool project in Queensland, by Sam Gardener Tiling. The project is now completed and we are excited to share these final images - it looks absolutely amazing! The 105m2 project features 20x20mm Bisazza, ‘Sydney Blend’ glass mosaic tiles for the pool and polished concrete for the coping. Sam has used a range of LATICRETE materials to qualify for a 15 Year LATICRETE Warranty.
