Update on the Matthew Flinders Anglican College Project

In July last year, we shared the first update on the Matthew Flinders Anglican College Project on the Sunshine Coast, QLD. The team from Skorpil Tiling worked hard to complete this project alongside Integral Construction, and now we are happy to share the latest stage of the project, which features 400m2 of granite installed with a range of LATICRETE materials.

LATICRETE products used: 

• 335 is a premium, flexible, high-performance thin-bed adhesive for installing a wide range of tiles and stone including low absorption ceramic tile, porcelain tile, natural and manufactured stone using thin-set method of installation.
• HYDRO BAN® is a thin, load bearing waterproofing/crack isolation membrane that DOES NOT require the use of fabric in the field, coves or corners. HYDRO BAN is a single component, self curing liquid rubber polymer that forms a flexible, seamless waterproofing membrane. HYDRO BAN bonds directly to a wide variety of substrates.
• PERMACOLOR® Grout is a high-performance grout that provides a grout joint that is dense, hard and will resist cracking.
• LATASIL™ is a high performance, one component, neutral cure, 100% silicone sealant designed for ceramic tile and stone applications.

Tile Art in NSW have carried out this great installation with the builders at Bellevarde Constructions. The project in Point Piper features 2000m2 of granite, which has been sealed with LATICRETE STONETECH® BulletProof® Sealer.

Completed Pool Coping

Check out this stunning pool and pool surrounds renovation in QLD! The coping and steps features 25mm Granite stone, installed by TRS Tiling using 335 Premium Flexible Adhesive, "I love your glue, it's still the best out there for anything in or around the pools!"

The next stage will be to installing Granite inside the new pool fence and 600x600mm Porcelain tiles will be on the outside. We can't wait to see the final result!

Paving Project Made Easy!

Contractor Glenn from Super Gardens recently finished this 50m2 granite paving project over a concrete water tank lid for the Officer City Council in VIC. A range of LATICRETE materials was used throughout this project and supplied by Reece Irrigation & Pools in Clayton. 

LATICRETE products used:

• 315 Super Floor & Wall Adhesive is a high performance thin-set adhesive to install tile and stone using the thin-bed method of installation. Mix with water or fortify with LATICRETE latex admixture.

Projects That Stand the Test of Time

Still going strong - this photo was taken recently of the streetscape at Kings Street Place in Rockdale, NSW, which had been installed 10 years ago! The streetscape features granite pavers using 226 Thick Bed Mortar and 3701 Mortar Admix, and was carried out by the team from Sydney Brick Paving Company for the Rockdale Council.

Kerang Streetscape Upgrade

Victoria Street in Kerang, VIC, is currently undergoing a streetscape upgrade. Gannawarra Shire Council are installing 1200m2 cement pavers and granite cobblestones over a concrete substrate, using a range of LATICRETE materials. 

• 211 Crete Filler Power - A factory prepared blend of carefully selected raw materials, Portland cement and graded aggregates. Designed for use with 4237 Latex Additive to produce a high strength adhesive for ceramic tile and stone that meets and exceeds the requirements of national and international standards.
• 4237 Latex Admix - A specially designed latex additive for use with 211 Crete Filler Powder to make a high strength latex thin bed and medium bed adhesive up to 15 mm.
• 226 Thick Bed Mortar is a factory prepared blend of carefully selected raw materials, Portland cement and graded aggregates. 226 Thick Bed Mortar was designed for use with 3701 Mortar Admix to produce a latex Portland cement mortar that has exceptional strength. 
• 3701 Fortified Mortar Bed - A polymer fortified blend of carefully selected polymers, Portland cement and graded aggregates.

Progress on Harbour Drive Streetscape

We recently blogged on the Harbour Drive Streetscape Upgrade in Coffs Harbour, NSW. The project is moving forward and progressing well. We are excited to share the above pics with you. 

LATICRETE materials used are:

• 226 Thick Bed Mortar is a factory prepared blend of carefully selected raw materials, Portland cement and graded aggregates. 226 Thick Bed Mortar was designed for use with 3701 Mortar Admix to produce a latex Portland cement mortar that has exceptional strength. 
• 3701 Mortar Admix - Used in place of water, improves the working and physical properties of any cement mix and provides an economical and easy way to make permanent, trouble-free installations of ceramic tile, brick and natural stone.
• 335 Premium Flexible Adhesive is a high performance thin-bed adhesive for installing a wide range of tiles and stone including low absorption ceramic tile, porcelain tile, natural and manufactured stone using thin-set method of installation. Exceeds the requirements of AS4992.1 and AS4992.2 classification C2TES1.
• PERMACOLOR® Grout offers the maximum performance available in a cement-based grout, providing consistent colour and antimicrobial protection to resist stain-causing mould and mildew. PERMACOLOR Grout is easy to install – just mix with water.

Harbour Drive Streetscape Upgrade

The Harbour Drive Streetscape project is currently underway and consists of granite cobblestone being installed over 400m2. 

Joe Tabone, LATICRETE NSW Technical Sales Rep, provided an update of the installation,

"We decided to high pressure clean and mechanically broom to give a great clean solid surface to adhere to. Screed coverage on average is: 1 x 20kg 226 mixed with 1.7ltrs of 3701 covers 1m2 at 10mm thick. We went with a 335 slurry bond coat of :1 x 20kg to 5.5ltrs of clean water - this is broomed on leaving an even 2-3mm coating over the surface. Followed by mixing 3 x 20kg bags of 226 mixed with 5ltrs of 3701 giving us the perfect mix which it's currently 19* - 20* temperature. Everyone from EPA officer, Work Cover Officer, Council Supervisor and workers are all happy with the LATICRETE support."
