Loftus Lane CBD Streetscape

Joe Tabone, LATICRETE NSW Technical Sales Rep, was on this 800m2 jobsite in Loftus Lane, CBD Sydney, NSW. Involved in this streetscape project for Sydney City Council are the designers from Aspect Studios, the builders from Richard Crookes Construction, and the installers from Sam The Paving Man. The project features 100x100x50mm pavers installed using a range of LATICRETE materials.

Caulfield North Project Completed

 

LATICRETE VIC Technical Sales Rep, Chris Stenhouse, received these project photos, featuring a completed bathroom in Caulfield North, VIC. The architect MGAO had specified LATICRETE installation materials. The bathroom was tiled by Complete Tiling Projects and builder, Quarters Projects. The team used PERMACOLOR® Grout in colour "Silver Shadow" for the installation.

Muswellbrook Pool Underway

 

LATICRETE NSW Technical Sales Rep, Craig Hunter, was recently on-site with the team from Dalski, as they are doing remedial work and rendering on the 1100m2 pool in Muswellbrook, NSW. The pool will feature Serapool tiles from the Pool Tile Company and installed using a range of LATICRETE materials that qualify for a LATICRETE 15 Year Swimming Pool System Warranty.

Products used:

• 226 Thick Bed Mortar is a factory prepared blend of carefully selected raw materials, Portland cement and graded aggregates. 226 Thick Bed Mortar was designed for use with 3701 Mortar Admix to produce a latex Portland cement mortar that has exceptional strength. 
• 3701 Mortar Admix is used in place of water, 3701 Mortar Admix improves the working and physical properties of any cement mix and provides an economical and easy way to make permanent, trouble-free installations of ceramic tile, brick, and natural stone.
• LATAPOXY® Moisture Shield is a 2 component, roller applied epoxy coating specifically designed to reduce moisture vapour emissions in concrete and other substrates.
• HYDRO BAN® is a thin, load-bearing waterproofing/crack isolation membrane that DOES NOT require the use of fabric in the field, coves or corners. HYDRO BAN is a single component, self-curing liquid rubber polymer that forms a flexible, seamless waterproofing membrane. 
• HYDRO BAN® Fillet & Sealant is a one-component, fast curing, hybrid elastomeric adhesive, and sealant.

Fox Lane Streetscape Done and Dusted!

 

The team from Ally Civil are closing to completing the streetscape at Fox Lane in Ashfield, NSW. The 600m2 area features brick pavers and has been installed using a full LATICRETE “Extra Heavy Duty” Streetscape system.

Project Spotlight: Baha Mar

There are big projects, and then there are huge projects. And every once in a while there are truly enormous projects. The Baha Mar Casino and Hotel in the Bahaman capital of Nassau is one of those enormous projects, earning the label of the largest construction project in the Western Hemisphere. 

Given the pure scale of the task at hand, unique challenges related to size, international expertise, and the timeline are bound to arise. China Construction America (CCA), the project’s international construction management firm, coordinated the design and assembly of the $4.3 billion resort to include three separate hotels, a 9,290m2 casino, and a 2,787m2 spa. A water feature that spans 182m in circumference and 15m high was also to be built, along with installing tile and stone throughout the resort’s many bathrooms, floors and common areas.

CCA chose to utilize LATICRETE products because of the company’s track record, capacity and product portfolio to meet the needs of this massive undertaking. “The technical expertise of LATICRETE and the company’s international presence lends itself to projects of this size,” said Wayne Hoerning, LATICRETE International Regional Manager for the Caribbean. “We worked with CCA during the Beijing Olympics, so they knew we had a team of experts that could be on the ground within days to deliver high-quality products and service.”

Outdoor Training at Yallah TAFE

Glenn Mannix, LATICRETE NSW Technical Sales Rep, recently spent the day with 3rd year Landscaping and Construction students at Yallah TAFE, NSW. The focus of the training was on cladding systems and cement-based membranes, including the use of HYDRO BAN® SLURRY and MVIS Veneer Mortar. Well done!

Shane Anderson, LATICRETE QLD Technical Sales Rep shared the above photos on this large-format thin porcelain tiles project, which Murray Heazlewood and his team from SEQ Tiling and Cladding have been working on in Brisbane, QLD.

The wall will feature large-format thin porcelain tiles which are 2700x1200x6mm and the floor will feature 1200x600x12mm, all installed using the below LATICRETE installation materials:

• HYDRO BAN® is a thin, load-bearing waterproofing/crack isolation membrane that DOES NOT require the use of fabric in the field, coves or corners. HYDRO BAN is a single component, self-curing liquid rubber polymer that forms a flexible, seamless waterproofing membrane. 
• 254 is the ultimate one-step, polymer fortified, thin-set mortar for interior and exterior installation of ceramic tile, stone, quarry tile, pavers, and brick.
• 335 is a premium, flexible, high-performance thin-bed adhesive for installing a wide range of tiles and stone including low absorption ceramic tile, porcelain tile, natural and manufactured stone using thin-set method of installation.

The pool features 55m2 of Ezarri glass mosaic tiles, and is being installed using a range of LATICRETE materials.
