Wow - What a Restoration Project

Industrial Applications, a SPARTACOTE® coatings installer, began concrete prep work on a 557m2 Nissan car dealership service bay facility in Triadelphia, USA. The concrete slab was in good shape with the exception of some acid stained areas, which was properly prepared by grinders.

After the surface prep was complete, the crew applied SPARTACOTE Guard™ light grey base coat and allowed it to cure. They then applied the clear SPARTACOTE top coat with DIAMOND TOPP™ traction additive dispersed into the system, to give the final floor very high traction properties while exhibiting a matte finish.

The restoration project started on a Friday afternoon and the newly coated concrete floor was handed back over to the car dealership owners by 3 PM on Sunday, with plenty of time for the dealer to safely open the doors to foot and vehicle traffic on Monday morning. "Just a short note to let you know that Patrick and I spent Australia Day creating an 'ocean-inspired’ floor with the SPARTACOTE METALLIC products.  We played with Cobalt Blue and Arctic Ice to conjure up the look and feel of sea spray - so much fun!  

This was very experimental, and a great learning curve for us both.  As an artist, though, I’m REALLY excited about the potential of the METALLIC!"

GroutPro Restores Old Staircase

Grout Restoration at Its Best!

Matthew from GroutPro Albany Creek, QLD, gave us a rundown on a recent project was completed on a staircase:  

"The main foyer entrance stairs was a tricky job to complete within a time before the sun gets too hot, I had till about 10am to clean all of the efflorescence stains that was growing on the tiles and grout lines, and remove all of the mouldy silicone. Cutting the grout out was the tricky part as there was non slip safety coating on top off all the tiles that I had never seen before, so I had to take my time to do that as the non slip safety coating chipped off in a couple places; I had returned later that afternoon to apply SPECTRALOCK® PRO Grout (sterling silver) that I had applied almost 1 ½ - 2kg of the grout to the stairs. I then returned a couple days later in the morning to re silicone the steps".
