Swimming with the dolphins

You may recall we shared this beautiful dolphin pool project, which we called "Sydney Pool Refurb" in May. 

We are excited to share a video and images of the grouted pool with you which Craig Hunter, LATICRETE Technical Sales Rep submitted. Doesn't it look amazing?!

Sydney Pool Refurb Project

Check out this pool refurb project by Kieran from Silicone Star and Gareth from Sydney Pool Renovations in NSW! Craig Hunter, LATICRETE NSW Technical Sales Rep was on-site conducting hands-on training with SPECTRALOCK® PRO Premium Grout*.

Additional LATICRETE products used throughout this project: 

• 226 Thick Bed Mortar was designed for use with 3701 Mortar Admix to produce a latex Portland cement mortar that has exceptional strength.
• 3701 Mortar Admix is a specially designed latex admixture for use with thin-set adhesives, cement grouts, cement mortar beds, and other cement mixes.
• HYDRO BAN® is a single component, self-curing liquid polymer that forms a flexible, seamless waterproofing membrane that bonds directly to a wide variety of substrates.
• 254 Platinum is the ultimate one-step, polymer fortified, thin-set adhesive. For interior and exterior installation of ceramic and stone tile, reduced thickness porcelain, quarry tile, pavers, and thin brick.
• SPECTRALOCK® PRO Premium Grout* provides colour uniformity, durability, and ease of installation. Designed for use on tile, glass tile and stone applications, both residential and commercial.

Completed Pool in Mosman

We recently shared the early stages of this pool project in a residential home in Mosman, NSW. LATICRETE Technical Sales Rep, Craig Hunter, was back on the job site with the team from Sydney Pool Renovations and they had just completed laying the Ezarri mosaic tiles and grouting. Soon the pool will be ready to be filled with water. What a great end result! 

Products used:

• 3701 Fortified Mortar Bed is a polymer fortified blend of carefully selected polymers, Portland cement and graded aggregates. 3701 Fortified Mortar Bed does not require the use of latex admix, you only need to add water to produce thick bed mortar with exceptional strength.

• 335 Premium Flexible Adhesive is a high performance thin-bed adhesive for installation a wide range of tile and stone for exterior and underwater applications. 

• LATAPOXY® Moisture Shield is a 2 component, roller applied epoxy coating specifically designed to reduce moisture vapour emissions in concrete and other substrates.

• HYDRO BAN® is a thin, load bearing waterproofing/crack isolation membrane that DOES NOT require the use of fabric in the field, coves or corners. HYDRO BAN is a single component, self curing liquid rubber polymer that forms a flexible, seamless waterproofing membrane. HYDRO BAN bonds directly to a wide variety of substrates.

• HYDRO BAN®  Fillet & Sealant is a one component, fast curing, hybrid elastomeric adhesive and sealant. Particularly for use under HYDRO BAN Waterproof Membrane as a transition fillet and crack filler. 

• PERMACOLOR® Grout - offers the maximum performance available in a cement based grout, providing consistent colour and antimicrobial protection to resist stain-causing mould and mildew. PERMACOLOR Grout is easy to install - just mix with water.

Residential Pool in Mosman

This private pool in Mosman, NSW, is being renovated by Sydney Pool Renovations. Craig Hunter, LATICRETE Technical Sales Rep, submitted these photos of the project currently in progress. Sydney Pool Renovators are using the below LATICRETE products on this 100m2 pool project.
