Recent LATICRETE Mosaic
Competition winner, Catherine Conaty from Cairo Made That, discusses her winning mural and the
process that was involved:
"It is sealed with HYDRO BAN®,
adhered with 4237 Latex Additive and Sanded Grout, and then grouted with the
same grout. It is the front fence of a 5 acre property at Capalaba (QLD), with
36 panels in total – which I’m doing all by myself. I use a combination of white
ceramic tiles and stained glass. Every single bit of the project is hand cut by
me, assembled on mesh panels, transported to the site and installed. It is the
biggest work I have ever done."
HYDRO BAN is a thin, load
bearing, waterproofing/crack isolation membrane that DOES NOT require the use of
fabric in the field, coves or corners.
4237 Latex Additive is a
specially engineered latex additive designed for installing all types of tile,
stone and agglomerates.
Sanded Grout is formulated from a
blend of high strength Portland cement, graded aggregates, polymers and
colour-fast pigments and provides a grout joint that is dense, hard and
durable.
