Missouri's Veterans Memorial

In 1968, veteran Jim Eddleman promised himself that if he survived the Vietnam War he would one day honour his comrades and those who’ve also bravely served the United States. His dream finally came true with the opening of Missouri’s National Veterans Memorial in Perryville, USA.

Eddleman and his wife contributed a staggering $2.5 million, as well as donated 47 acres of land that had been in his family for three generations. In addition to several onsite educational facilities, such as a museum and welcome centre, Missouri’s National Veterans Memorial main feature is a full-size replica of the original Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C.

“When I first heard of this project, I asked how they planned to clean, seal and maintain the wall. When I came to the realisation that they had not planned on this, I went to LATICRETE and knew that they would want to be involved,” said Joel Tully, founder of Trends in Tile, LATICRETE stockist.

As recommended by LATICRETE National Sales Manager Marcella Prado, Trends in Tile and contractor, Richardet Floor Covering, sealed the panels using STONETECH® BulletProof Sealer, an advanced sealer designed to provide maximum protection on natural stone against the toughest oil and water-based stains. After the sealing was complete, Trends in Tile and Richardet Floor Covering trained the memorial staff on how to maintain the granite panels with STONETECH Revitalizer® Cleaner and Protector.
