RagingWire
Data Centres design, builds, and operates mission-critical data centres in
California and Virginia that deliver 100% availability and high-density power
for leading internet, enterprise, and government organizations. Affiliated with
the global network of 150 data centres under the Nexcenter brand operated by
NTT Communications, RagingWire opened VA1, its first data centre in Ashburn,
Virginia in July 2012, and opened VA2 in early 2016. The new Ashburn facility includes a state-of-the-art and industry-leading power
infrastructure and, like all data centres, requires a completely dust-free
environment.
The project manager was faced with a couple of major challenges with this
project:
- Dust - Because of the mission-critical nature of data centres, the integrity of the operating environment was high priority. The equipment is very sensitive, so dust and outside contaminants had to be eliminated.
- Timeline - With customers already lined up and waiting for the new phase of the facility to come online, timing was very tight. The contractors needed a floor coating solution that could be acquired and installed quickly and would be ready for equipment installation almost immediately.
The solution: LATICRETE® SPARTACOTE™ Guard. The coating was applied quickly and easily once the concrete slab was prepared.
