Lest We Forget -"Remembering the ANZAC Spirit"
The Potters at Buderim Craft Cottage in QLD took 18 months to make the mural. It measures 3x1 metres and weighs 250 kgs.
"This mural honours the men and women of Buderim and surrounding areas who fought in all conflicts and in all services, and commemorates 100 years since the landing in Gallipoli.
The mural represents Buderim and surrounding areas, the glasshouse mountains with the setting sun behind them, the Poinciana tree which has become an emblem of Buderim, the poppies which represent the fields of Flanders, the horseman representing the Light Horseman of the first world war, an aboriginal soldier, a nurse nursing a patient, a mother with her son, thinking of her husband far away, and all services and their insignia." said Carole Parsons from the Buderim Craft Cottage.
An exhibition, "Remembering the ANZAC Spirit" will be held at The Potters Buderim Craft Cottage over this ANZAC commemorative weekend. Proceeds from the exhibition will be donated to Mates4Mates which support current and ex-service men and women suffering injuries and illness.
The exhibition will be open from Thursday, 23rd April 2015 - Monday, 27th April 2015, from 10am - 4pm at , at The Buderim Craft Cottage, 5 Main Street Buderim, QLD.
