La Casa De Esperanza

Join us each week for a look at some stunning LATICRETE projects from around the world! This week we're showcasing La Casa De Esperanza in Wisconsin, USA.

Founded in 1966, La Casa De Esperanza, which stands for ‘The House of Hope,’ is a full-service charter school located in Waukesha with a mission to provide opportunities for children to achieve full social and economic participation in society, with emphasis on the Hispanic population.

With the construction of a new charter building, the school came together with more than 50 students and community members to design a beautiful façade mural to create a cumulative design that represented the school's history and community. 

The final design of the mural was 4.2m by 7.3m, and installed using a full system of LATICRETE products, including waterproofing using HYDRO BAN®, and grouted using SPECTRALOCK® Pro Premium Grout.

Serenity Pools Sukabumi Project

Prep work is underway on this circular pool project on the Sunshine Coast, QLD. LATICRETE QLD Technical Sales Rep Corey Downes was on-site with Sam and the team at Serenity Pools, who are using a LATICRETE 25 year Sukabumi Pool & spa system. 

First up, the Serenity Pools team is applying 226 Thick Bed Mortar mixed with 3701 Mortar Admix. After this, the team will install Sukabumi stone tiles using LATAPOXY® 300.

• 226 Thick Bed Mortar is a factory prepared blend of carefully selected raw materials, portland cement and graded aggregates for use with 3701 Mortar Admix.
• 3701 Mortar Admix is designed for use with 226 Thick Bed Mortar or Portland cement and sand mixes. 3701 Mortar Admix is a multiuse latex that will fortify any cement based adhesive or cement based tile grout. 
• LATAPOXY® 300 Adhesive is a chemical resistant, epoxy adhesive that will bond to most sound, clean surfaces. The adhesive spreads easily and cleans with water while fresh.

Check out the team from Creative Ceramics hard at work in Victoria! Chris Stenhouse was on site with the team as they laid bluestone over HYDRO BAN® using 254 and PERMACOLOR® Select Colour Kit Midnight Black.

Cranebook Residential Project

Check out these gorgeous paved pool surrounds from Bluegum Landscaping & Paving! Jimmy Nicholson shared these beautiful photos of the project with us, laying 75m² of classic travertine at this private pool in Cranebrook, NSW. For this installation, Jimmy used a full LATICRETE system, including 3701 Mortar Admix for the bed, and 335 for the tile adhesive. 

Products Used:

• 3701 Mortar Admix is a specially designed latex admixture for use with thin-set mortars, cement grouts, cement mortar beds, and other cement mixes.

• 335 adhesive is a premium, flexible, high performance thin-bed adhesive for installing a wide range of tiles and stone including low absorption ceramic tile, porcelain tile, natural and manufactured stone using thin-set method of installation.
